Google Adds Google+ Features Into Gmail

Google continues to integrate more Google+ features within various products.

Google's developers have modified the web version of gmail client and included more Google+ information within the user interface. It helps to get quick access to contact details. When a user searches for a specific email address in Gmail, the Google+ account associated with the email address will now appear at the top of the search results. It will also include contact details in addition to that person's profile photo and the emails sent from and to them, text or video chat and a phone number.

The development team has also improved circle integration and circle search. When a user selects a circle, profile photos of people in that circle will be displayed at the top right of the page.

Google Changed Autocomplete Function

Google has been disabled some of its autocomplete function in Japan after complaints it violates privacy.

Autocomplete is a function on many of Google's search service which uses a mixture of algorithms and stored user data to predict what a person is searching for.

A Japanese man searched for his own name in google. Typing his name google linked him with crimes he hasn’t committed. It was not just a couple of pages. It was at least 10,000 individual results. A search associated him wrongly with crimes committed by a man with the same name.

After the case was arbitrated on 19 March, a Japanese court has ordered Google to suspend its autocomplete search feature as it directed users to potentially false or misleading information.
