Google Wants To Replace Passwords With Physical Keys

Not many among us like to remember dozens of passwords to access online services. Nowadays it’s too easy for popular websites to be hacked and personal information to become vulnerable. Too many people leave themselves open to attacks by choosing weak passwords. But would you trust your passwords to a USB key?

Google is looking for new choices beyond the current standard of passwords and cookies. They want to use a physical key to lock and unlock online things. The company experimented with a YubiKey cryptographic card that could be simply slid into a USB port to log into Google. Many think it is a step in a safer direction.
