The New LinkedIn Homepage

LinkedIn, the social network for professionals, was redesigned recently. Now the website offers users a cleaner and simpler interface. The new homepage layout includes more social features like Google+ or Facebook. LinkedIn users will be provided with more relevant news and information based on their industry and connections.

The sidebar displays statistical information on your network and other related info like jobs you may be interested in and other people you may know.

There is also a possibility to comment and like posts on LinkedIn Today. A new section “Trending” in Your Network shows news that is currently trending in users' individual networks.

Twitter Represented Its New Hashtag Page

Twitter represented its new hashtag page this weekend.

The first hashtag page is dedicated to Twitter Nascar site. People who are not Twitter users can also view the #NASCAR hashtag page. It looks like Twitter’s version of Facebook Fan Pages. The hashtag landing pages will surface “the most interesting Tweets” using “a combination of algorithms and curation.”

The new hashtag pages are a bit more tailored and nuanced than normal hashtags, presenting more relevant information built from a core group of Twitter users.

This is the next step in Twitter’s attempts to take the website to the next level while riding the line between happy users and happy advertisers.
